Alfresco DMS
Alfresco is an enterprise content management system. It comes in two editions. Alfresco Community Edition is free software, LGPL licensed open source and open standards. Alfresco Enterprise Edition is commercially and proprietary licensed open source, open standards and enterprise scale. Its design is geared towards users who require a high degree of modularity and scalable performance. Alfresco includes a content repository, an out-of-the-box web portal framework for managing and using standard portal content, a CIFS interface that provides file system compatibility on Microsoft Windows and Unix-like operating systems, a web content management system capable of virtualizing web applications and static sites via Apache Tomcat, Lucene indexing, and Activiti workflow. The Alfresco system is developed using Java technology.
Alfresco offers true Open Source Enterprise Content Management (ECM) - Document Management, Collaboration, Records Management, Knowledge Management, Web Content Management and Imaging.
Alfresco uses best-of-breed Open Source technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, Lucene, modern standards such as JSR-168, JSR-170, Web Services, Java Server Faces and contributions from the open source community to get higher quality software produced more quickly at much lower cost.
Alfresco is built by a team with 15 years’ experience in this space, including the co-founder of Documentum, VP of Web Content Management of Interwoven, and other senior industry players.
